Buy Black & Decker MM875 Lawn Hog 12 Amp 19-Inch Electric Mulching Mower with Rear Bag at Amazon
I bought the 12 amps Lawn Hog 19 "on Amazon. Com in April/2005. I have a large courtyard area. My front and rear yards combined equal, at least, about 8000 square feet
Over the years I have had many different gas mowers. My last one is a gas mower Sears 6. 5HP 22 "Self-Propelled with a Briggs & Stratton engine.
Pulling to 15-20 after starting (sometimes it took even more tire) is very tiring and frustrating! Not all claim to a "3-button 1-Pull Start? I decided to search online at Amazon. com for the consideration of electric clippers. I hate having to mess with gas, oil, tune-ups, noise, which shook my hands numb during mowing (which I finally alleviated by wearing gel padded cycling gloves).
My lawn is tall fescue – it grows very thick – I live in the desert, high in the Antelope Valley, CA (altitude 2346 m). As you can probably guess, it's quite hot here in mid-late summer (105-115 +). Even when I start at the beginning of shearing (9-11am), it is already near 100 degrees, I search for the most powerful electric mower I could find. I wanted to ensure that time spent under the sun would not exceed that of a gas plant of the same power. Like other reviewers have said, he arrived in a big box on my porch. Assembly of the handle and attaching the bagger was a breeze. It has two input pins in the handle of the Lawn Hog – I had this type of cord. I plugged in, he pulled the handle and orange WHAMO! It roared to power!
In my opinion, this mower is comparable to a 6. 5HP mower gas – others disagreed in May, but I'll tell you, this thing is powerful. It cuts the grass clippings with the cleanest of any mower I have ever owned and does not damage the lawn of bacteria (as long as you do not set the height of your scalp grass) . Adjusting the height of your fingertips is easy.
TIP # 1: To ensure the bag is filled so
With the bag empty – reduce by about 2-3 minutes, stop the mower, remove the bag, shake the contents accumulated in the back of the bag and put the bag on the lawn of pigs. You should now be able to reduce until the capacity reached bagger and it fills evenly.
TIP # 2 CORD KEEPING THE CUTTING PATH
Say, for example, you want to mow your lawn and in the east to west north model you mow. Expand your power cord and accumulate it 5-10 feet from you to the South – now, you'll always mowing and away from the location of the cord and, as long as you do not lot jerk with your turns, the cord will not take the path.
You May also want to consider buying a little plastic / steel wedges and place them at strategic points around the perimeter of your lawn. Place the power cord correctly points behind – this will stop the cord from the suite and get in your way – you must experiment, but you'll get to know the perfect place for the points which you can cut as easily as under a reign mower.
TIP # 3 KEEPING THE FREE Train debris
It is important to maintain the chassis of the mower free and clear of debris, INCLUDING THE BLADE – a dull blade will make a dull cutting and early damage your grass seeds. This causes the browning and leave the grass shoots exposed to disease, rot, insects, etc. In lawn. Scotts. com website (by the way, a wealth of practical information for everyday, it is located on all matters concerning the maintenance of lawns, flowers, shrubs etc) I came across a tip that suggested:
COATING TO END YOUR MOWER WITH NON-STICK SPRAY – they suggested a non-Stick Oven / Pan spray food would. I bought a can of spray PAM. The next time I cut the lawn, I first clean the underside, as well as I can by scraping with a 3-inch plastic scraper. I was careful not to push the blade too afraid to throw out of balance. I then turned the lawn pigs leaned upside down and against my garage wall (can not do with a gas mower, can ya?) And sprayed the interior with a thin layer of PAM ( including the blade). I put the lawn pig down, right side, and waited about 5 minutes to allow the spray to adhere. (The train of the lawn of pigs, which houses the plastic blade is careful when using metal tools scraping – you can easily put grooves in the train to cause even more dirt, grass The imbalance of the blade so it is harder to clean). Then I cut my lawn. When I was done, I put the lawn of pigs against my fence and was pleased to find a minimum of grass / dirt accumulation. I'm busy with my 3-inch plastic scraper and scraping came out with nominal effort. Even the residue on the blade has come easily. THIS really works and is relatively cheap too!
NOTE: COAT SPRAY the bottom before your first use! It will later cleaning a breeze (I want, I read about this tip before you mow my first).
The Lawn Hog is very light and easy to grow. As the bag accumulates, we need a little more effort to push, but for me it is negligible.
I used the lawn of pigs from April to June, I decided that when a riding mower might be better in reducing my physical. I bought a Sears 13. Riding mower 5HP. All the headaches associated with gas, oil etc started to haunt me, but I am I myself have tried. The first was mowing a breeze. The following week, I went out to start, and he was dead. I waited two weeks for replacement parts. After repairs, during which I used the lawn reliable hogs, riding mower, but then, a flat front tire and would not reinstall itself properly. Another call for repair, another delay. I noticed that no matter how I used the 6-position height adjustments to the riding mower scalped some parts of my grass, and sometimes other areas left too long in length. I then tried to change the riding mowers Oil – What a mistake! The outlet valve of the oil has not protrude past the side of the tip of the riding mower and the oil spilled my garage floor and the mower housing itself. I decided, "THAT'S IT! I returned to Sears.
I am now happy to mow my lawn grass in pigs, and I can not even imagine in my wildest dreams, never to return to a crazy oily smell, noisy, shaking mower gas while genre.
In addition, mulch according fantastic and I am now much more than I mulch bag, remember to keep the blade clean.
I am very happy and pleased with this mower.
I hope this helped.

Gas versus Corded Electric
I’ve owned two of these things. Compared to the gas mower you are used to it is
1. Quieter.

Piece of Junk
I wouldn’t recommend this mower unless you are midget. There is no way to substantially adjust the height of the handle bar.

Not quite what I was expecting…
I’ve used only corded electric mowers since I bought my first house with a lawn in 1986, and I do like Black & Deckers.
After years of using my dad gas lawn mower, I finally own a house and get into the wonderful world of home and yard improvement. One of the things I had a bad lawnmover and after considering the various types and models I settled on it. Overall, I am happy with my new lawn mower as he did the thing he is supposed to do with relative ease at an affordable price. It's really a pleasure to have no problem with gas or worry about whether I charged the battery. Plug it in and go. My yard is large enough to avoid the cord from the battle all the time so I found the cord for battle to be minimized with a simple mowing, route planning. The things I liked most about the mower has been its ability to destroy through the most difficult (it was then that, since my garden was mowed!) And the ease with which it begins and stops. What a pleasure to be able to take a break and get a glass of iced tea without feeling guilty of pollution in Los Angeles with an exhaust gas mower (they are such a pain of having to start again). The other point, I think worked was the Grand Cordon of fixing nifty section – the umbilical cord never came loose while I once cut. The only problem I had with the mower (which makes it 4 stars) is the tunnel mulching bag in the back is quite low. This is good to avoid snipping a finger, but dangerous because the grass tends to be lodged and block the path of the bag. Granted the grass is a little wet when I'm broke. The rear bag is also very easy to take off, it just takes a little coordination to hold the door and snap mulching bag on the back. No problem if you are coordinated, but I could see someone being frustrated by this feature. Otherwise, I am very happy with my new mower affordable. I recommend it for managing the rigors of small sites.
We just moved from a condo to a house which has around 7000 + square feet of lawn in front and around 1500 + square feet of lawn at the rear. Being new to this, I made a lot more research before buying a lawn mower. Our first problem was to decide between gas and electricity. Few things that have come in comparison to the general mower gas and electricity, were:
– The gas is more powerful than electric. It might be true but it is never a problem even if you mow once in 3-4 weeks. We are very pleased with the power.
– Cord management: You get used to it once you layout and the way you mow the lawn. You always start close to the exit and go far away. This way cord always follows you and you do not risk turning over. Well, you should always be aware of it.
– Maintenance: Certainly fewer worries with electric mowers. no gas, no oil, no smell in the garage, no handling during storage out of season, not before the beginning of the season
– The operation: easy to use other than managing the cord, pull the lever and it starts, no need to pull the string etc. Some expensive gas mowers have switch to stop the blades, but leave the engine running when you flush grass bag, but it does not need anything like that.
– Respecting the environment
– Less noise compared to those of gas
– Less than cutting area. 18 or 19 inches instead of 22-inch standard with gas mowers.
– Guarantee: a lot of people mentioned that gas mowers have 4-5 years electrical and 2 years, but most of the mowers now, even gas, have only two years warranty. So it's not a question for us.
– Wireless? First of all, they are slightly heavier as you carry the battery, but the breaker was to replace the battery after 2 years.
Through these comparisons, we decided to power the mower and began looking at different models. Black and Decker is basically 3 models MM 575, 675 and 875. Most stores and 875 and 575 that I could find many reviews for these two models.
The main difference between 575 and 875 is the model of the area. 575 is 18 "while 875 is 19" so we ended up buying 875. Both are the same amperage (12 AMPS), but the 875 comes with rear bag, too. We like the mower and its operation.
– Very easy to start. It comes all assembled. The handle is returned to the front, you just pull back and tighten two levers and its ready.
– A checkmark next to the socket on the handle so you do not accidentally pull the extension cord plug immediately.
– It is very difficult to find the right template for the extension because there are no guidelines, but after much research, here's what I found. It is 12 AMPS and we run on 120 volts, its 12×120 = 1440 watts max. So, if you turn up to 50 feet away from the outlet, its safe use 14 gauge extension cord (50 feet). If you're 100 feet away from the wall outlet, then its advisable to use 12 gauge (100feet) cable. Well, I'm on a cable 100 feet of 14 gauge to 100 feet away. I understand that this is not always at full amperage so it is totally ok. And both work.
– Mulching: If you plan to mulch, you'll need to mow at least once in 7-10 days otherwise the grass grows too large
– To get used to a smaller area to reduce the difference of 22 inches with gas mowers. you will probably make no more than two tracks based on how big is your lawn.
– 8 settings for cutting. Not that you need such a fine control on the grass, but he feels that you have a choice. It moves up and down all the wheels so its probably better than those who do move the rear wheels
– Light: I do notice more flexibility while turning and u-turns.
– Rear Grass Bag: Lot of people have complained that you need to empty the bag once its 1/3rd full otherwise it spills grass. I think you can have up to 2/3rd and then it starts to drop the grass on the sides and make a line. This does not bother me that much.
One last thing, it was on sale at Ace Hardware, as they are a celebration of the natural yard care North West with the support of county and sell it at $ 184. 99. you can probably find more details yarddays. com.
Overall, a great buy and we are very pleased to decide.

Good Product but a bit heavy
The MM875 is a very good lawnmower in the sense that it cuts grass pretty evenly and has lots of flexibility e.g. mulching, height of grass etc.

Great Bang for the Buck
I have used a Black and Decker electric in the past, but this one has improved features, notably larger rear wheels which make pushing easier with pretty good maneuverability…

Causes injuries!
I was attempting to cut high grass and it got clogged. So I turned it over to clean it out and it chopped off both of my hands and half of my face.

Good performance – hate the cable
The product arrived on time and was fairly easy to set up.
Even though the weight of the mower is on the lighter side, the frame is a little huge.
