Buy Black & Decker CMM1200 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Mulching Lawn Mower at Amazon
I just bought this mower and mowed my lawn today. First, the positives:
1. This thing is also announced. There is no assembly required other than the organization of the mulch, remove the bag and mulcher – if that is what you want.
2. It is incredibly easy to start this thing – and remove the main lever inserted.
3. No mess, no gas, no oil, no air filter. The only maintenance described in the service manual is blade sharpening (once or twice a year) and replacing the battery. (Possibility of two years).
4. Loading the camera is as easy as charging a cell phone and pay up at night. It has enough juice to mow my 1/3rd acre lot of weeds in spring with heavy which were a little wet, but lack of battery juice.
5. It is very easy to clean. Simply unplug the key and then you can activate more than clean the blade and the guard, without worrying about a spill of oil or gas.
6. It is easy to handle and disconnect the mulch bag for storage.
Negatives:
1. Although this is not very heavy, it is not as light as my gas mower Craftsman 5HP. As there was no basis for self-propulsion, it can be cumbersome if you had to go up hills – my lawn is relatively flat, so no problem.
2. The unit is made of plastic. It has a good feel for it – although I'm sure it would be too heavy if it is metal.
3. There's really nothing protecting the battery under the hood and it is just held with a nylon strap.
4. The document of the instruction manual is useless. He has very little information and it is difficult to read because one and the article was written, it must go to another part of the manual for the photos.
5. The unit came with Styrofoam inserts that surrounded the battery. I had a very strong sense that these inserts are for shipping and must be removed before the device. However, there is nothing in the manual that tells what it is and I had to discover it by myself.
6. There are no instructions on how to replace the battery – you are responsible for taking to a dealer for service. Maybe they could have put more effort into documentation.
7. Mulching bag does not appear to offer a lot of grass. I had emptied three times before I was done mowing.
All and all, I love this mower. I hated having to jack gas and oil and filters and maintenance of gas mowers. Moreover, this thing is relatively quiet compared to my gas mower. I recommend it.

Replaced my old toro (gas) propelled. Easy to assemble, a little heavier than I had hoped but easy to maneuver on my flat yard. Quiet and quick charge. Zero maintenance.

Just returned ours..wouldn’t hold a charge and it’s only 10 months.
We bought our BD last Sept 2008. At first it was fantastic! Can’t say the same about it this yr. In less than 1yr, the “beast” barely had any power when it was charged for a…
As most of you, whenever I go to buy an instrument or tool on the Internet, I read the customer reviews to try to get a feel for the product of long-term performance before investing in it. Unfortunately, most comments have been submitted by the owners of short-term are still jazzed about their purchase and have not used it long enough to provide a comprehensive assessment of the product. So I decided to revisit this mower now after using for a few seasons.
I had my cordless mower since May 2004. It is the CMM1000 the previous model to the CMM1200. I understand, based on the number of negative comments, that the quality of the design and manufacture of this product could be regarded as suspect. Temper of the reality that most customers are satisfied with mom, while the most dissatisfied customers screaming at the sky. I own several other products from Black & Decker, with mixed results. My piercing? Awesome. WACKER my weeds? The first was undesirable. The second – a wireless model – worked. My washing power? I went through two of them, and I would not want one on my worst enemy.
But even after several years of service, I still love my mower.
At the end of the first season, something broke in the gut under the coverage that the move was tied. At first, it would not be cut until I deleted the key, and then after a while it will not start. Since the sets, I had no problem.
It seems to work now as long as it did again. If there was a deterioration in performance, it was not important enough for me to complain. Power is very good for the task of mowing and mulching, but you must keep in mind that it will not have the shear production of a gas mower oomph. If you keep the work adapted to the capacity of the battery, you should be happier with the CMM1200. The mower is quieter than a gas powered model, but not as quiet as you think. My neighbors love, but right next to you to raise your voice be heard. It is also heavier than you expect and pushing around gives a good workout. This can be regarded as positive. But if I'm over forty, I am a great and worthy reletively guy. Flinging around the court is not a problem for me.
I have a medium sized lawn, ten trees and steep side-hill section about ten feet wide and 150 feet long. The whole work is a little big for the mower to be addressed in a single session, especially during these growth spurts in June Usually, I do the front yard one day and the sides and lower back yard the next. It mulches grass very well so I have no bag or rake.
In the fall, I spray the leaves in place, and this has helped improve my lawn each spring. Believe me, it is just as much work, but raking the benefit of fertilizing the lawn.
During the fall of 2007, trees in our area held their leaves until the last minute. In early December, he came down at once. The mower was a bit outdated and could not hold it in place as quickly as I would have liked. So I bought the MM875, which is the cord of the same version of the mower, for use as a supplement for next year. It uses the same blades as the CMM1200 and operates similarly.
So when the grass is too thick or too many sheets for the battery to fully handle mower, I'll move on to finish the MM875. This does not mean that the CMM1200 is not enough. The mower is more than capable, simply impressive, as you do not expect perfection when you push beyond the envelope.
I am glad I bought this product? If the switch has not malfunctioned in the first year that I would be in five-star mower. I would buy again, even if it died tomorrow!

Quiet, easy to use out of the box
I am not into the maintenance and extra doodads with traditional engined lawnmowers. Read many reviews and nearly purchased the Neuton because I succumbed to all their advertising…
A technician from the Analysis and Opinion – CMM1200
The summer is over and our mower purring. Cuts grass fine and mulches leaves great.
Now. . . Except for the price difference, I think my choice would be the CMM1000-5 (1-4 recalled models). If you can find parts diagrams on the Web, you will see that the 1000 and 1200 are similar, except for the provision of control cables and battery charge.
The 1000 still has a power to assess and size appropriate "security key". The 1200 has a decoder circuit with the battery charge. Regarding the duration of the problem: the question is not the battery, which produces 17 amps for one hour, but the engine, which uses 15 amps at idle, in my ammeter. These figures suggest that you have an hour of mowing time, but with real power, then move. Our older wireless Toro is similar, but a 6 Amp motor battery, and it takes about 3 hours.
After unpacking, I proceeded to disassemble and examine. The quality of the design of the shearing body. I do not see a problem with the height adjustment – give the body a whump to ensure that the links are incurred. Minor: 8 screws (Torx, by the way) keep the top on the shells, 1 was absent, 1 was oversized. After the summer, I wanted all debris, so I take off the shells.
Clamshell problems: the shift circuit, which was in the body of the mower in 1000, is at the top of the handle on the 1200 in a "shell" assembly. I think the lack of design, durability and manufacturing, and the pain will be for both owners and B & D that will solve the problem.
The first is the "security key", which is vital to disconnect the power to the engine when you need to clean and store them under the mower. The key is more appropriate for a small bag. It is a small plastic tab with a "T" shaped copper and turns without too much effort. If she is bent over 15 °, May it not to connect the circuit and the mower does not work. B & D has even added a small sheet of instructions on the use of the key, and I will elaborate further:
The key to the tab inserts with a 9 o'clock position. Press firmly and directly with a (4 pounds) force, turn 90 degrees vertically and 12 hours, then release. To remove, again push in an enterprise (4 pound) force, return to the 9 o'clock position and then remove them. Do not turn the key without pushing, or touching the "T" and hurt his continued plastic in the slot.
Also, I add that the "T" makes contact between two thin strips of copper, which I do not feel strong for a long-term use and the amount of current. Finally, when I folded the handle for storage, he carefully cut the cord hanging, the drop the key in the grass! B & D graciously sent a replacement (under warranty).
The main red "switch-lever" starts and stops the mower. After a few weeks, it does not seem to work. You have a screwdriver. The internal switching box has three double pairs of contacts, one was opposed. Scrape clean and applied lubricant to all – that should have been done to manufacture.
I think it would be helpful if the "clamshell assembly" have been another (modular) unit, which could be easily replaced. As it is, the wiring harness is connected to several in the mower housing and would be a degree of confidence and work to replace.
I tried to bring over the B & D, but only on a "survey" list.

Great concept! Maintenance a hassle.
I loved using this mower for the first year or two (even though my lawn was probably too big for it). I could do my whole lawn in 3(-4) charges.

So far, so good
The mower has proven to be all that it is purported to be. It saves us on gas. We have a small yard so we have not run out of juice running it.

I have had this mower for two years now and I love it. I’m a single woman with my own home, so I didn’t want to mess with gasoline and oil.

Absolutely TERRIBLE! STAY AWAY!
I bought this mower in hopes to be able to mow my yard quick and easy. I knew battery technology was pretty terrible for something like this, but despite my doubts, I ordered it…

Poor Service
I too had to replace the battery after a couple of years, and that was expensive. I don’t mind that so much.
Help! I lost the safety key on this lawnmower and I have searched the web to buy a replacement but can not find where I can buy another one.
