Dirty / Old gas is usually the cause. I just had this problem the other day. I took my gas tank off mine, cleaned it and I removed the carb. I found the filters were both clogged so it wasn’t getting enough fuel. I used my air chuck to clean them. I put fresh gas in the tank, started the mower and shot a good blast of air down the throat of the carb. It’s running like a champ now.
Keep the air filter as clean as you can. If it gets too dirty it can cause the fuel to burn rich and that can foul out the spark plug.
I use a no foul spark plug… this helps avoid this problem for the most part but remember it needs air, fuel and spark to run. Those are the basics for any combustion engine.
Pull the hose off of the bottom of the gas tank. If you have plenty of gas in the tank and nothing comes out, the screen is plugged. If it flows ok, reconnect it and try to run it with the choke on. If it keeps running with the choke on, you may need to adjust your carburetor settings and give it a tune up including replacing the spark plug. If you don’t know what you are doing, you’re better off taking it to a small engine repair shop and let them do it. Happy mowing!
No fuel…make sure u have gas. Make sure ur plastic primer pump is not leaking. Is the carb. letting gas in? Is the wire to the spark plug on? If any of the above menbtioned is ok…than is better u take it to a mower shop to check it. It should not cost that much just to look at it and get a estimate.

Dirty/old gas or the carb needs cleaning.(add some carb/injector cleaner to your next tank)
Check the gas.. it may seem silly but check. then check spark plugs… hope its simple
