My Rotary Mower Has Suddenly Started To Trip The Safety Switch.?
It still seems to run OK without going through the security device, but I worry that is triggered when I use a power tool outdoors. Inquiries I did say scrap it and buy again because I could buy a new one for the money to do not even inspect repaired. Advice to date is to remove the top cover and remove all debris and let it dry. If I had not had the help of a safety switch I could still use this machine in ignorance of its potential dangers, if any.
Earth trips can seem a pain at times and tempting to bypass but the reason they are so sensitive is to trip off the power at the level that can kill. Even then, there is a time period that it takes to trip that enough current can easily flow and kill (They do not limit the current).
I’m sure having it inspected would be expensive so buying a new one may be better, also these things are often uneconomical to repair anyway.
I assume this is a electric mower ? by what you are saying?
Maybe the breaker is getting weak and its not even the mowers falt. Do you have another place to plug the cord into ? Is the cord getting hot close to the plug in ?
Yes clean and oil any part you can and sharpen the blade. Try keeping the mower to not work to hard drawing high amps, therefore tripping the breaker.
It could be you are pulling too much current from you electric source causing it to trip. Try unplugging other items that can go without electricity until you are finished with your task. If it still trips, I’m sorry to tell you, you will have to either get it fixed or buy a new one. Good luck
it might be that small bits of meatal are in the motor and are shorting it out (in small amounts) causing it to trip the breaker.
i had this happen to a starter motor in my atv.
Scrap it & buy a new one it’s a lot cheaper
