Lawn Mowers – Keep The Beauty Of Your Lawn Maintained

There are many claims to being the inventor of the lawn mower, one is made by an engineer with a rather strange name Beard Budding in about 1830. He designed a lawnmower to cut the grounds of large gardens and sports ground. It wasn’t until 18500 that the first lawnmowers were manufactured though.

I’m sure you’ll agree that a lawnmower doesn’t just cut the grass it can actually transform a garden. A well cut lawn nearly always make a garden look healthier and much more attractive.

There are actually a lot more types of lawnmower to choose from nowadays.

One of the newest lawnmowers are the robotic ones, the first attempts at these where rather hopeless but the have become increasingly advanced and effective. You usually have to specify the boundaries of the lawn but after that you can let it get on with it, check out a company called Robomow for these. They are not the cheapest mowers but look pretty impressive although I’ve only seen them working on gardening programs.

If you’re trying to get fit there’s a great benefit to be had from using a manual or reel mower. This uses the persons strength to mow the lawn. They are a real option with anyone with a smallish garden, a nice little workout and none of that messing around with fuel or cables.

Try the Panther range, they generally are very well thought of – there’s a selection of the traditional manual mowers here – manual lawn mower

of course another advantage is that they are very inexpensive. remember as well they are the most ‘green’ lawnmowers you can buy with zero carbon emissions.

Anyway here’s some things to check when choosing a lawnmower.

Most important check the weight, if it’s too heavy for you, you’ll always have problems.

Check that the blades are not exposed and it looks safe.

Budget according to size and shape of your lawn, if you have a huge garden with a large uneven lawn, you’d be advised to get a professional lawnmower, don’t waste money on a cheap and flimsy flymo.

Repairing Your Lawn Mower

Most of us garden owners look for a lawnmower with a quality finish, as it makes such a difference to our lawns. that is why choosing the right lawnmower is so importantbut it’s easy to get lost in the choice. Hover mowers, lawnmowers, rotary mowers and even now robotic mowers. But one thing that is essential to keep these working as well as possible is regular maintenance.

When it comes to lawnmower repairs, you have a couple of options you can either do it yourself or hire a professional. Of course the option you choose is dependent on the cost of the lawnmower and whether you have the correct skills, without investing too much time.

The most common problem with a lawnmower is that it doesn’t actually start. This can be caused by several things but the first thing to check is the fuel supply if it’s a petrol or gas powered mower. Next stop is to check the throttle, and the wick candle if you lawnmower has one.

If all this checks out then make sure the air filter isn’t clogged, or with electric lawnmowers check out the batteries or fuses and plugs !

With a petrol mower you may have to drain the fuel, and clean the carburettor out. If all fails an expert can usually remedy most faults really quickly so it might be worth taking it along to a reliable local firm. One thing that people also forget to do is to check the manual often at the back there will be a list of common problems and complaints that could help you with your problems.

Take care of your lawnmower and ensure you give it some love and maintenance and it should last many years.

Buying A Lawn Mower For Your Own Lawn

The lawn: for some it's just a weekend chore, others however think it is a great escape. Likes it or not, it must be maintained and that means buying the right lawn mower for the job. What mower you choose depends on the size and density of grass in your lawn and your budget and the features you need.
Size and density: The size of your lawn, determines the size of the lawnmower, and the nature. Lawnmowers generally fall into two categories reel and rotary. If your lawn is 1,000 square feet (100 square meters) or less in May, you want to choose a manual reel. However, if your lawn is large, consider a riding mower.
Grass density: You must take into account the thickness of your lawn, when purchasing a lawn mower. It will help you determine the blade and rotary. If your lawn is a soft blade type, not Bermuda or St. Augustine, then consider a reel mower. A plastic blade can be used in gardens where there is no risk of your blade to be damaged by a brick or mowing of large stones.
Catcher or Thatcher?: If you want to catch the clippings from your lawn, choose one with a rear mounting catch. If not, then a mower Thatcher. It cuts the grass into small pieces, then moves down into the lawn to cover fertile.
Low maintenance: Most people want to spend more time caring for their lawn as lawn mowers, so here are a couple low-maintenance options to consider when buying a lawn mower .
Rotary-types are easy to use and refine. They also tend to be inexpensive. Self-propelled mowers are when the engine turns the wheel. These are good tracks. Front-propelled types are easy to use.
Go Green: Many people prefer gas for their power mowers, but they are noisy and polluting. If you want a more environmentally sound, consider an electric mower. When purchasing a lawn mower whether the electrical cord is long enough for your lawn. They tend to be 100 feet (30 m) long. If you opt for a cordless model, make sure to check the battery life. Want to pass through at least one mowing before he dies.
When purchasing a lawn mower also keep these considerations in mind. Can you maneuver it? This is important if you have to mow around trees or shrubs. Is it too heavy? Light lawnmowers are easy to handle and manipulate without compromising quality. Is it easy to start the mower? Is it easy to raise or lower the cutting height? Is there a switch to cut the blade?
Buying the right lawn mower for your lawn is essential to maintaining health, lush lawn.

Do You Like Your Electric Lawn Mower?

I need a good mower. The electrical any good? I'm not really a gas. I noticed that there are corded mowers and also those with rechargeable batteries. Our lawn and this court is not so much that I would not really mind the cord, but how do they compared to gas mowers?
  Any recommendations?

How Do You Use Your Electric Lawn Mower?

We have received a power mower as a gift (it is a hand mower), my husband has used it for several months. The only way he can use it without cutting the power cord is pushing and pulling the mower with one hand while pulling, pushing, to choose the cord with the other. I think we should double the time to mow the lawn with this machine. . . . is there a trick you can give us? perhaps something that we do not know, like a retractable cord. . . I do not know. . . . something you can use to be able to push the machine with both hands
