Bosch Rotak Blade – Replacement
Problem with these Bosch mowers is that you can go nearly anywhere with them – which if you’re careless means you’ll soon be needing a replacement Bosch Rotak blade. Believe me these used to be extremely hard to find, but they are a little widely available now. Of course be careful, regularly sharpen and lubricate the blade and they should last many years but an encounter with a rockery at a 2000 rpm can leave a nasty dint in your mowers rotary blade.
Anyway I’ve checked a few places and the cheapest for these is now Amazon. So here’s a few links to where you can find a replacement Bosch Rotak Blade, I think I’ve found most of the main models. Just click on the images to check the price and availability.
They are all in the £10-£15 range, but if you find them any cheaper than above prices – please post a comment where they can be found.
If you have a battered and blunt Bosch Rotak blade in your mower then a replacement one does make mowing easier. But take care of them and remember to clear rocks and hard objects off the lawn beforehand and you should never need to buy a replacement Bosch blade !

If your blades aren’t damaged badly though – a metal file or sharpener will sort them though.
Bought a new blade for my Bosch Rotak 40 and you really do notice the difference. Cost me £15 from Amazon – much better finish now, mind you my blades were pretty damaged.
Hi I also brought a new blade, but I have tried and tried to remove old blade and can’t as blade turns at same time and bolt just won’t budge, I sprayed with WD40 but no luck, as I see you changed your bade can you offer any advise? cheers
Oops sorry Elizabeth missed your post. I just put my boot on the blade whilst turning the bolt – but sounds like yours may be a bit stiffer! Hope you got it sorted.
If Sfklady has not sorted her blade replacement problem, the normal resolution would be to use a ring spanner, secure the blade (with a gloved hand) and strike the far end of the spanner (in the blade rotation plane)with a small hammer. This should shock the the bolt free. Ths is also useful when re-bolting the replacement blade, but only one shock strike.
Hi I ran over a rock and badly bent blade, got a new one but like sfklady I cannot make bolt budge – wd40, ratchett the works and all I have managed to do is break tools! Any one have any ideas or advice on how to free the bolt thanks
