My Push Mower Starts Strongly But Immediately Stops When I Let The Pull Cord Go. Is There A Quick Fix?
It’s a Sears Craftman rotary lawn mower ( walk behind with 6.75 horsepower power-propelled). I checked the oil and changed the filter and spark plug. It has gas. Help!

You may have to repeat this a few times. I have cleaned my carburetor, (in fact, rebuilt a portion of the engine), to no improvement.
Again- after you’ve done the above a few times (if you’ve already replaced the gas/cleaned the carb), it will run as it warms-up.
sounds like the carburetor needs cleaned.dump and dispose of any old fuel.take off the carburetor and clean it with carburetor cleaner.reassemble and fill with fresh fuel.hope this helps.
Drain the gas and replace it with fresh — Gas that you know is not left over from last fall! Hey, U asked for the quickest repair? This is probably the problem ~~~~ and the easiest thing to test first .
2 is good advice.Are you holding the safety arm down while cranking…you know the one that shuts off the mower if you let go?
