I bought them in 2006, it was difficult to start and very easy to more flooding. There is no starter. The red bulb on the side of the carburetor must be pressed moderately 3 times, wait about 10 seconds, then pull the starter rope. Try it first in a garden center.
It was stolen and replaced by the insurer. The new proved even more difficult. It will not start unless the carburetor is spot on. It was serviced regularly and gasoline has not been left in the winter.
Anyone under 10 stone will not pull hard enough.
Briggs and Stratton have changed the engine and there is a new model for easy starting only available in the USA.
Buy Hayter ground with a Honda engine. He was a starter and can easily be started by a small person.
Purchased this mower, and read the magazine Toff, while waiting for it to be delivered, and was worried.
He arrived and was a perfect start, using the primer and it should (and in fact the first time outside of the box) with a single pull to start. Axis pull to reduce resistance on the starter, and it needs only a suggestion of a sweater. I was very impressed, I successfully got my daughter 9 years to run, if the reference 10 stone seems a little harsh.
Can not blame his performance, providing an excellent finish to the lawn, and a gardener, a teacher, this finish is essential to get repeat work.
